Childhood now a days is all about the Internet. Fun game sites to occupy our time. Completely innocent, right? WRONG! advertisers are using a deceptive form of advertising called Immersive advertising to target young children. By filling popular sites up with logos and brand names, kids begin to associate the fun of playing the games with the brand or company that sponsors the game. All the immersive ads in games make it hard to distinguish between what is real and what is false.

Psycomarketing: a type of advertisement in which children are exposed and pressured into thinking that one brand is better than another. Also, when mature themes are worked into everyday life.
Advertisers are using psychology to promote products to children. By branding logos and company slogans into the brain of a young child, you can get a customer for life. Even babies can remeber and recognize logos. So if a baby remembers the nike logo, then when it is old enough to buy clothes, it will buy nike over another company.
Another form of marketing that has been increadibly effective is “buzz marketing.” This is when advertisers go find the cool kids in a comunity and pay them to publicly support, use and praise their product. The cool kids will wear this product to school, or eat it at lunch, or talk about it in chatrooms or online. After a while, more and more people that interact with the cool kid, will begin to buy or want that product as well.
The biggest problem with all the advertising to kids is the large amount of explicit stuff that is pushed on them. The marketing of R rated movies to children is that they put ads on tv during when kids are mostly watching.

Immersive advertising: A advertising technique in which a website or movie is immersed with product placement or company logos.
We read thisarticle about neopets.
Neopets.com, a popular gaming site for children between the ages of 8-14, is a regular user of immersive advertising. In many games you see McDonald’s logos everywhere. And other games have blatant product placement in the title. One example is The fruit-loops game.
The article explains how many of the food items and clothing items are real companies. Also, Childre go to neopets and stay there for a long time. But more than that. You have to come back to the site to care for your neopets. So you stay for a long time and come back. Its and advertisers dream!
My opinion on immersive advertising is negative. If all little kids see is McDonald’s, fruit-loops and target, Then they are more likely to be swayed into buying everything from those companies. As a young kid you are easy to convince and so children are unfair playing ground for advertisers.
On the other hand, immersive advertising works. If it didn’t work, then advertisers would find some other means to reach children.

The chinese government is putting little cartoon cops on all websites. These creepy little things come on every thirty minutes and warn you not to go to inappropriate sites. Also the government is blocking a lot of websites. To see if a site is blocked go to the greatfirewallofchina.org. Also you can read this article for more info. I think that all the censorship is very wrong. The chinese government is taking away peoples right to information.

Download TitleOur Story is Called Murphy the Leprechaun. It is a bout a leprechaun named murphy. The book came out like we wanted and everything was a s we envisioned it. We used hyperbole because murphy is standing next to the sign and the sign is so much bigger than him. The theme was don’t change to have friends. I think it is worthwhile to make these into movies because we learned to make iMovies.
